The only solution to the case of the
Five
is their release
December.15.09
ON leaving the courthouse in Miami, William Norris
stated that “although it is not what we wanted, we
are to an extent satisfied,” given the reduction in
the sentence handed down to Ramón Labañino Salazar,
one of the five Cuban anti-terrorists unjustly
incarcerated in the United States for more than 11
years.

The U.S.
administration was forced to recognize that we did
not endanger national security
December.9.09
MIAMI.— The re-sentencing proceedings for three
of the five Cuban anti-terrorists concluded
yesterday after a hearing in the Federal Court of
this southern Florida city. Ramón Labañino Salazar
was handed down a new prison term of 30 years and
Fernando González Llort was sentenced to 17 years
plus nine months.

They shouldn’t have
been deprived of their freedom even for one second
December.9.09
RICARDO Alarcón de Quesada, president of the
Cuban Parliament, stated last night that the Five
should not have been deprived of freedom even for one
second, and that the re-sentencing of three of them
(Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and Antonio
Guerrero – the last in October) is an additional
argument for continuing and intensifying the
struggle for the immediate release of the Gerardo
and his four comrades.

Statement by Antonio, Ramón, and
Fernando
We will
continue until the final victory
December.9.09
Dear brother and sisters of Cuba and the world:
We have already served more than 11 years in
prison and there is still no justice at any level of
the U.S. legal system. Three of us have been
transferred to the Miami Court to be re-sentenced in
compliance with a ruling by the Eleventh Circuit
Court of Appeals, which determined that our
sentences had been erroneously imposed. Our brother
Gerardo Hernández, who is serving two life terms
plus 15 years, has been arbitrarily excluded from
this re-sentencing process. His situation remains
the principal injustice in our case.

Press release
from the International Committee to Free the Five
June 16, 2009
THE U.S. Supreme Court has announced that it will
not review the case of the five Cuban patriots. This
decision prevents our five brothers, unjustly
incarcerated for more than 10 years for monitoring
terrorist organizations based in Miami, from having
even the possibility of a fair and impartial trial
outside of Miami.
The same justice system that is rejecting the
possibility of reviewing the case of our five
brothers, has granted the defense team of
international terrorist Luis Posada Carriles a
further year of grace to enable it to better prepare
its case.
