President of the
Dominican Chamber of Deputies in solidarity with the
Five
By Deisy Francis
Mexidor—Granma daily—
JULIO
César Valentín, president of the Chamber of Deputies
of the Dominican Republic, affirmed yesterday that
regardless of the ideological affiliation and
plurality of beliefs with the Chamber, "there is a
virtually unanimous sentiment that there are causes
in the case of the Five with which to identify."
Valentín made that statement during a meeting in
Cuba’s National Assembly of People's Power with
relatives of the five Cuban anti-terrorists, who
have been incarcerated in U.S. federal
penitentiaries for close to 10 years. They are men
who, in his opinion, "embody the struggle against
aggression," he said.
Valentín, who is heading a parliamentary
delegation to Cuba from that sister nation, also
condemned the protection being given in the United
States to the international terrorist Luis Posada
Carriles.
