in Cuba

ON
May 3, Judge Joan Lenard accepted the request
presented by René González to modify the conditions
of his supervised release and remain in Cuba, in
exchange for renouncing his U.S. citizenship.
René González, Hero of the Republic
of Cuba, must present himself at the U.S. Interests
Section in Havana to begin the process, which will
be concluded when he is given a Loss of Citizenship
Certificate by the State Department.
On May 2, the U.S. government
indicated to the Court that it did not oppose
granting such a request. •
