U.S. authorities
still not allowing
Gerardo Hernández access to
appeal documents
•
GERARDO Hernández, one of the Cuban Five
incarcerated in the United States, remains a victim
of arbitrary treatment on the part of U.S.
authorities, who are not allowing him access to
legal documents related to his case.
In a press release, the Cuban Parliament notes
that it revealed this situation on August 1 and, 10
days later, it remains unchanged.
As U.S. authorities are aware, a decisive stage
in Gerardo’s Habeus Corpus appeal runs out early
next week, the text continues.
"We must once again demand an immediate end to
this unjust and illegal situation and are appealing
to the solidarity of all honest people," it adds.
Additional difficulties have been created for
Gerardo in this crucial period for communication
with his legal team and Cuban officials, while his
correspondence has been retained or restricted,
including material of a legal nature related with
his case.
