The Cuban Five congratulate women of the world

THE five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters unjustly incarcerated in U.S. prisons since 1998 congratulated the women of Cuba and the world, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, according to Prensa Latina.

Antonio Guerrero, in the name of his compañeros Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández and René González, expressed gratitude for the encouragement, love and support that women continuously offer them.

"Above all, we hold you in our hearts every day and, with you, we carry on, we are strong and always optimistic," Guerrero wrote in a heartfelt letter.

"We acknowldege that it is women who make up the largest participation in the battle for our freedom. It is you who wake up every day thinking of new and creative ways to push our struggle forward. You write us the most from every corner of the planet. It is you who provide us with unwavering friendship," the anti-terrorist fighter emphasized.

Guerrero went on to write that women demonstrate, with great clarity, that another world is possible and cited José Martí, who said, " When women are moved and help… when cultured and virtuous women bestow the sweetness of their love upon an endeavor …that endeavor is invincible."

Fernando González, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernández and René González are serving severe sentences for unveiling plans for acts of violence against Cuba launched by terrorist groups based in U.S. territory.
