Cuban World
Classic team selected
ON February 13, Cuba’s baseball
leadership announced the 28-player team which will
represent the country in the 3rd World Classic.
Since the conclusion of the first phase of the 52nd
National Series a pre-selection team of 36 has been
intensively training in Havana's Latinoamericano
Stadium .
The group led by manager Víctor Mesa
and head coach Jorge Fuentes will play several
preliminary games in Tapei prior to the team's debut
in the main event March 3, against Brazil. Cuba will
then face China and finally Japan, the other members
of Group A
