The Five around the world

Innumerable demonstrations of solidarity continue in
a huge variety of locations around the world, as
part of the international campaign to free Gerardo,
Antonio and Ramón, unjustly imprisoned in the U.S.
for 16 years.
Charly Bouana, president of Cuba Sí France, during a
tradition event sponsored by the newspaper
L’Humanité the last Friday of every month, reported
that the group’s initiatives will be maintained and
broadened.
At
the Bastille, the group carried posters bearing
photos of the Five and distributed leaflets,
explaining details of the case.
In
Colombia, the Cuban solidarity movement closed its
23rd national meeting with a declaration demanding
that U.S. President Barack Obama immediately free
the three anti-terrorists who remain imprisoned.
“We
condemn and repudiate terrorism against Cuba in all
its manifestations… and in particular state
terrorism arbitrarily practiced by 10 U.S.
administrations which have protected, financed and
advised mercenary, terrorist groups… who operate
with impunity in U.S. territory…” the statement
asserts.
In
Jamaica, with graphic images and a painting by
artist Michelle Gauntlett, a day of the solidarity
with the Five was launched.
During the event called by the Solidarity with Cuba
Movement and the group Cubans Resident in Jamaica,
Cuba’s ambassador to this country, Bernardo Guanche,
thanked participants for their support.
The
Cuban diplomat commented that Gauntlett’s painting
sent an optimistic message, one of confidence in
victory in this cause which has brought human beings
around the world together.
