                            U.S. dance company to debut in Havana 
                            International Ballet Festival 
                            The 
                            Pontus Lidberg Dance Company will debut today, 
                            October 30, with a show scheduled for 5:00 pm at the 
                            National Theatre , as part of the 24th Havana 
                            International Ballet Festival. 
                            
                             Some 
                            eight artists are included in the delegation, headed 
                            by Swedish dancer and choreographer Pontus Lidberg, 
                            who will lead the group in the interpretation of his 
                            work Faune, Within and Tactile, which has 
                            never been presented in Cuba. 
                            In 
                            addition, the public will be treated to the world 
                            premiere of the play This was written on water, 
                            also by the artist, who has worked in the United 
                            States for some time. 
                            
                            While at the Mella Theatre, scheduled is a concert 
                            program by Cuba’s Camagüey Ballet, the Joburg Ballet 
                            from South Africa, the Hong Kong Ballet, the Winter 
                            Guests Company from Norway, and the National Ballet 
                            of Uruguay.  
                            This 
                            24th edition of the renowned festival continues 
                            through November 7, with artists from 25 countries 
                            performing, along with collateral activities, such 
                            as book launches, lectures, panel discussions, and 
                            art exhibits. (AIN) |
