Argentine
President receives
La Colmenita
BUENOS AIRES.—Argentine President
Cristina Fernández received in the Casa Rosada the
Cuban children’s theater group La Colmenita,
according to the Telam news agency.
The
encounter had a special symbolism. "It was a session
among friends with a high dose of emotion," Carlos
Alberto Cremata, director of the group, told PL.
After their first performance in the
famous Teatro Cervantes in Buenos Aires, to an
audience of close to 800 people, the head of state
received at the governmental house La Colmenita, a
Cuban cultural delegation visiting the country for
the 40th anniversary of the renewal of bilateral
ties.
"It was an agreeable, relaxed
encounter, without the restrictive protocol which
generally characterizes this kind of audience, which
lasted for close to an hour and, as she explained to
us afterward, the President could not give more time
to us given her multiple responsibilities," Cremata
stated.
The President sent greetings to
President Raúl Castro and in particular, to the
historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.
The children’s group, declared
Goodwill Ambassadors by UNICEF, performed a number
of emblematic songs by the Cuban singer-songwriter
Silvio Rodríguez.
