Minister of Defense
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz,
president of the Councils of State and Ministers
received on the afternoon of June 3, Agustín Rossi,
minister of Defense of the Republic of Argentina and
the accompanying delegation, who visited the country
at the invitation of the Ministry of Revolutionary
Armed Forces (FAR).

During the encounter, Raúl and Rossi
discussed the historic links which unite both
countries and the mutual commitment to continue to
strengthen them.
Rossi was accompanied by Juliana Isabel Marino,
ambassador for Argentina in Cuba; Lieutenant General
Luis María Carena, head of the Joint Staff of the
Armed Forces; Brigadier General Mario Miguel
Callejo, head of the General Staff of the Armed
Forces; Admiral Gastón Fernando Erice, head of the
General Staff of the Navy; and Dr. Roberto de Luise,
deputy secretary of International Affairs of Defense.
Participating on the Cuban side were
Army General Leopoldo Cintra Frías, minister of the
Revolutionary Armed Forces; Foreign Minister Bruno
Rodríguez Parrilla; Army Generals Álvaro López Miera
and Joaquín Quintas Solá, head of General Staff and
vice minister of the FAR, respectively, as well as
Brigadier General Arnaldo Tamayo Méndez.
