Miguel Díaz-Canel receives
President of the Institutional Revolutionary Party
of Mexico
On
the afternoon of October 2, Miguel Díaz-Canel
Bermúdez, member of the Political Bureau and First
Vice President of the Councils of State and
Ministers, received César Octavio Camacho Quiroz,
President of the Institutional Revolutionary Party
of Mexico (PRI), who is leading a delegation on a
visit to the country, at the invitation of the
Communist Party of Cuba.

The
meeting took place in a fraternal atmosphere, during
which Díaz-Canel explained to Camacho Quiroz the
implementation process of the agreements approved in
the Sixth Congress and First National Party
Conference. The PRI President detailed the
structural reform process currently being
implemented by his government and addressed the need
to strengthen the mechanisms of regional
integration, in particular CELAC. Both dignitaries
also discussed issues regarding Latin America.
Both
parties expressed their desire to continue
strengthening the bonds of friendship between the
PRI and PCC.
Participating on the Mexican side were José
Encarnación Alfaro, Organization Secretary and
Javier Vega Tamargo, Secretary of International
Relations; and on the Cuban side, José Ramón
Balaguer Cabrera, member of the Secretariat and head
of the International Relations Department, in
addition to other Party officials.
