Camilo Cienfiegos forever in the
hearts of Cubans
Ladyrene Pérez
(Text and photos)
October 28, thousands of Cubans gather along rivers
and seawalls, and children throw flowers into the
water, to honor Camilo Cienfuegos, in a ritual which
began in 1959, when the revolutionary leader
disappeared in a small Cessna 310 aircraft traveling
from Camagüey to Havana. Neither Camilo, the plane,
or the other two passengers pilot Luciano Fariñas
and soldier Félix Rodríguez were ever found. (Cubadebate)
