Raul Meets with the President of the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce
Army
General Raul Castro, President of the Councils of
State and Ministers, on the afternoon of May 29, met
with Thomas J. Donohue, President of the Chamber of
Commerce of the United States, who is on a visit to
the island leading a delegation of executives of
that organization.
Accompanying Donohue were Steve Van Handel,
president of the Board of Directors of the Chamber
of Commerce and of the Amway Company; Marcel Smits,
Executive Vice-president and Financial Director of
the Cargill Corporation; and Jodi Hanson Bond,
Vice-president for the Americas of the International
Division of the Chamber of Commerce.

Also representing Cuba at the meeting, in which
matters of interest for the two nations were
tackled, were Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez;
Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and
Investment; and Josefina Vidal, General Director for
the United States at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. |
