The
8th Legislature of the National Assembly of People’s
Power is beginning its third ordinary period of
sessions with work in commissions, at Havana’s
Convention Center. The first plenary is scheduled
for Saturday, July 5.
The
commissions are charged with considering a broad
agenda covering the work they have undertaken since
December in visits, studies, investigations, and
dialogue with citizens addressing issues of concern
to the population.
Results of national audits; follow-up on complaints
and proposals presented in community accountability
reports; and tasks related to confronting social
indiscipline and corruption are among the issues
within the areas of responsibility of the
commissions meeting July 2-3.
All
ten of the National Assembly permanent commissions
meeting July 2 will address the economy’s
performance during the first half of the year, and
consider projections for 2015.
