Raúl Castro holds
official talks with President of Namibia
September 29.- Cuban President, Raúl Castro,
received President of Namibia, Hifikepunye Pohamba,
on an official visit to the country, reported AIN.
Both dignitaries commented on the excellent state
of the historic relations which unite both countries
and reiterated their desire to strengthen
cooperation across diverse sectors.
They also discussed issues of the international
and bilateral agenda during the fraternal meeting.
Previous to the meeting, Pohamba toured the José
Martí Memorial in the Plaza de la Revolución where
he paid tribute to Cuban National Hero. The Namibian
President was accompanied by Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah,
minister of Foreign Relations, and Jerobeam Shaanika,
Namibian ambassador to Cuba.
Participating on the Cuban side were compañeros
Salvador Valdés Mesa, a Vice President of the
Council of State; Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda,
minister of Public Health; Rogelio Sierra Díaz,
interior minister of Foreign Relations; and Giraldo
Mazola Collazo, Cuban ambassador to Namibia.
