Raúl receives Executive Secretary of
ECLAC
Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the
Councils of State and Ministers, received on the
afternoon of October 28, the honorable Alicia
Bárcenas Ibarra, Executive Secretary of the Economic
Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC),
on an offical visit to the country.
During the meeting, both dignitaries discussed
cooperation links between Cuba and ECLAC and the
common desire to continue strengthening them. In
this sense, Bárcenas Ibarra stated that it is an
honor to be able to accompany Cuba in the process of
the updating of its economic model and ratified
ECLAC´s willingness to help in any way possible.
Similarly, they addressed important international
and regional issues, including Latin American and
Caribbean integration.
Raúl was accompanied by a Vice President of the
Council of Ministers, Marino Murillo Jorge and
Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo
Malmierca Díaz. |
