Bermúdez receives ECLAC Executive Secretary
Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First
Vice President of the Councils of State and
Ministers, received Alicia Bárcenas Ibarra,
Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for
Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) this Monday
morning.
During
the friendly meeting, the senior UN official praised
Cuba's exemplary response to the Secretary-General
of the United Nations’ call to address the Ebola
epidemic in Africa and demonstrated her interest in
the outcome of the recent ALBA-TCP Summit in Havana.
Other topics discussed were
education and cooperation, as well as progress in
the updating of Cuba’s economic model, with Minister
for Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca
Díaz, also participating.
