Foreign Minister from Belize praises
Cuba’s strengths
The
Minister of Foreign Relations and Trade for Belize,
Wilfred Elrington, arrived in Havana on Saturday,
leading his country’s delegation to the 2nd
Summit of the Community of Latin American and
Caribbean States (CELAC).
In a
statement to the press upon his arrival at José
Martí International Airport, Elrington praised
Cuba’s work in the region and emphasized the
country’s efforts in the areas of health care and
education.
In
regards to CELAC, he affirmed that the region has
the resources and the capacity to direct its own
affairs, emphasizing that no one from anywhere else
will do so.
Elrington will participate in the January 27 meeting
of CELAC Foreign Ministers which is taking place
prior to that scheduled for heads of state and
government January 28-29.
