Ki-moon Confirms Trip to
Cuba for CELAC Summit
HAVANA,
Cuba, Jan 24 (acn) The Secretary General of the
United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, will travel on Sunday
to Havana to participate in the 2nd Summit of the
Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC),
scheduled for next week, a spokesperson at UN
headquarters in Geneva reported on Friday.
According to the spokesperson,
Farhan Haq, Ban will also hold bilateral meetings
with various Cuban governmental authorities, as well
as with regional leaders present at the event, which
includes a meeting of state and government leaders
January 28-29.
Haq announced that Ban will
travel from Havana to Berlin, Germany, to continue
his intense work agenda in that European nation.
