Raúl receives Vice President of
Panama

Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the
Councils of State and Ministers, received, on the
evening of September 18, the honorable Isabel de
Saint Malo de Alvarado, vice president of the
Republic of Panama and minister of Foreign
Relations, on an official visit to the country.
Both dignitaries addressed regional and
international issues. Alvarado expressed her
government’s interest in advancing the development
of bilateral relations and discussed Cuba’s
attendance at the 7th Summit of the Americas, to be held next
year in Panama, an invitation which was positively
accepted by the Cuban President.
Alvarado was accompanied by the honorable Gina
Latoni, Special Mission ambassador and advisor to
the vice president. Participating on the Cuban side
was Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, minister of Foreign
Relations.
