Fidel receives
writer Ignacio Ramonet
The historic leader of the Cuban
Revolution, Fidel Castro, received, on December 13
at his Havana home, writer, journalist and
intellectual Ignacio Ramonet. The meeting took place
on the anniversary of Fidel’s first encounter with
deceased former Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez.
The conversation, which lasted more
than two hours, was focused on Ramonet’s most recent
book about the Venezuela leader, Hugo Chávez. Mi
primera vida. (Hugo Chávez. My first life)
The two additionally discussed the
recent municipal elections in Venezuela, as well as
current political issues and the planet’s ecology.
