Fidel receives President Putin
The
historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, received on
Friday, July 11, the Honorable Vladímir
Vladímirovich Putin, President of the Russian
Federation, who was making an official visit to
Cuba.


During the fraternal meeting, the historic ties
between the two countries and peoples were recalled.
Also discussed were with the growing economic and
commercial bilateral relations, as well as the
international situation.
Fidel explained to President Putin the studies he
has undertaken about the real food producing
possibilities countries in tropical and sub-tropical
regions of the world have, as the only way to
effectively confront the serious threat posed by
climate change, and the consequences of the unequal
distribution of natural resources, using knowledge
and technology.
Additionally attending the cordial, friendly meeting
with President Putin were Russian Foreign Minister
Serguei Lavrov; the ambassador of this sister
country in Cuba, Mikhaíl Kamynin; and other members
of the delegation. Clearly, cooperation between the
two peoples, and the majority of Latin American
countries, is moving forward on a solid foundation.
