Raul Castro Attends Constituent Session of Cuban Parliament

Cuba’s First Vice President, Raul Castro Ruz is attending the historic constituent session of the new legislature of the Cuban Parliament, underway at Havana’s Convention Center.

During the session all 614 deputies, who were elected last January 20, will formally take office and will elect the new leadership of the Parliament and the Cuban Council of State.

According to Cuban Electoral Law, the election will take place by secret ballot and those who obtain more than 50 percent of the valid votes will be declared elected.
