Diaz-Canel meets with
Vietnamese leader

Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) Political Bureau and First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, met on Wednesday morning, March 26, with Nguyen Tan Dung, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, who is on an official visit to the island leading a large delegation.

During the meeting - held in the fraternal atmosphere which has historically characterized the bonds existing between the peoples, parties and governments of the two countries - the two leaders expressed their willingness to strengthen bilateral ties in the economic-commercial sphere and in scientific cooperation to the same level political relations have developed. The two leaders also discussed the processes of socioeconomic development under way in Vietnam and Cuba.

Also present at the meeting were Vice-president of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, member of the Politburo of the Vietnamese Communist Party and president of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, in addition to several ministers and officials of the two nations.  (acn)
