Miguel
Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, member of the Political Bureau
and first vice president of the Councils of State
and Ministers, attended the Cubaindustria2014 fair,
on the morning of June 26, taking place at PABEXPO,
as part of the First International Convention and
Exhibition Cubaindustria2014.

During
his visit Díaz-Canel, accompanied by Salvador Pardo
Cruz, minister of Industries, and other
representatives, commented on the fair’s ability to
show the development of Cuban industry in each one
of its sectors, cooperation with various countries
and the quality of production which has been
achieved – a clear reflection of the implementation
of the Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution.
Díaz-Canel, emphasized
Cuba’s export potential and its
ability to substitute imports through collaborative
projects permitted under the new Foreign Investment
Law as well as the numerous opportunities offered by
the Mariel Special Development Zone.
Among the most
distinctive aspects of the
fair he noted
technological advancement and
knowledge management
for development,
demonstrating the talent
and intelligence
of human
resources developed over the
years. Díaz-Canel
also highlighted the
presence of the
non-state
sector at the fair - and a management model
designed
to complement national industry - whose
participation is vital for
the economy and the
population.
Díaz-Canel emphasized the need for Cubans to be made
aware of the development possibilities of Cuban
industry. The fair will be open to the public from
2pm-5:30pm today, June 27 and from 2pm-6pm tomorrow,
June 28. Entrance fee will be the standard PABEXPO
