Parliament Voting Begins in Cuba
The 38,357 polling stations set up in Cuba for Sunday’s parliamentary
elections opened on schedule at 7:00 a.m. Cubans are voting today to
elect members of their provincial legislatures and national parliament.

REVOLUCION MUNICIPALITY IN HAVANA.
People were lining up early to cast their ballots. Arnaldo
Rodriguez was the first to vote at his polling station in the Havana
municipality of Plaza de la Revolucion; Xiomara Leyva was the first
female voter to show up. Both were congratulated for being the first
voters in this general election.
More than 190,000 people are working nationwide at the voting
tables or involved in support activities. Their job is to make it easy
for citizens to vote and later to efficiently tabulate, compile and
transmit election data. |
