Cuban writer Reynaldo Gonzalez, National Literature Prize winner, is on a tour of the province of Holguin as part of an artistic delegation headed by singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez, performing for the prison population in eastern Cuba.

Reynaldo Gonzalez told the local newspaper Ahora that he would exercise his right to vote in Holguin, although he comes from the province of Ciego de Avila and has lived in Havana for many years.

"I will cast my vote right here because, in accordance with the law, I can do so. Besides, we, Cubans, are proud to vote for the Revolution no matter where we are. This is the time to be united in this new battle."
