Wives of Gerardo
and René detail the case of the five Cuban heroes to
the French Senate
ADRIANA Pérez and Olga Salanueva, the wives of
two of the Cuban anti-terrorists unjustly imprisoned
in the United States, were received in the French
Senate by the France Caraďbe friendship group, in
the presence of its vice president, Senator Jean
Marc Todeschini, and Jean Pierre Bel, president of
the that assembly’s socialist caucus.
The wives of Gerardo Hernández and René González
explained the current situation of the case and the
need to reinforce actions directed at U.S.
celebrities and Congress members, especially at
President Barack Obama.
They condemned the silence and misinformation of
the major media outlets in the West, and at the same
time expressed their thanks for the support of
various Nobel Prize winners and high-ranking
officials in many countries.
The two women attended meetings in the mayor’s
office in Paris’ 14th Arrondissement with Mayor
Pascal Cherki, member of the national bureau of the
Socialist Party, who committed himself to give all
his support to the cause.
During their stay in Paris, Adriana and Olga
attended the launch of the book Cinq Cubains á
Miami (Five Cubans to Miami) by French writer
and journalist, Maurice Lemoine. (SE)
