• LUIS Posada Carriles, one of the masterminds
behind the mid-flight destruction of a Cuban
civilian aircraft, a torturer in the Venezuelan
DISIP, and a drug trafficker who was part of the
Iran-Contra scandal, participated in a march on
Thursday, March 25 organized by musician Gloria
Estefan in favor of dissidents in Havana on the
payroll of the U.S. Department of State.
The former CIA agent, responsible for the Cubana
Airlines sabotage and the death of dozens of young
Venezuelans and Central Americans while he directed
political cleansing campaigns in Venezuela, El
Salvador, and Guatemala, joined in the anti-Cuba
propaganda campaign.
The demonstration in "little Havana" – supported
by the Mafia press and groups linked to terrorism
against Cuba such as the Cuban-American National
Foundation, Alpha 66, F-4 Comandos, Brothers to the
Rescue, and diverse NGOs financed by USAID – was
composed mainly of senior citizens.
Gloria Estefan confessed her links with the CIA
last August. In an interview with the television
program "Al rojo vivo" on Telemundo, she spoke about
how the CIA approached her when she was working as a
customs agent in the Miami airport.
She recalled then that her father, José Fajardo,
was a bodyguard of the Cuban dictator Fulgencio
Batista before leaving the island, when he was later
recruited as a mercenary in the force organized by
the CIA for the failed Bay of Pigs invasion.
One year ago, Estefan and her spouse, producer
Emilio Estefan, were accused by a Dominican
newspaper of investing in a human trafficking scheme
between Cuba and Mexico, which connected them with
illegal operations developed by the Cuban-American
National Foundation and the Gulf Cartel, the network
of Mexican drug traffickers.
Besides Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio
Estefan, other local politicians such as Miami Mayor
Tomás Regalado and senatorial candidate Marco Rubio,
took part in the march.
Posada Carriles, who claims he has various health
problems which prevent him being transported to El
Paso by land for an upcoming trial, was escorted by
various figures who have been accused of being
authors of terrorist acts or participants in
distinct CIA paramilitary aggressions against Cuba.
This is the sort of thing that occurs in Miami, a
sanctuary for terrorists.
