Visitors’ Book
MARGARET CHAN, director general of the World Health
Organization
It is a great privilege to visit this University and
learn about your experiences. Diversity and cultural
exchange provides an excellent learning environment
for students above and beyond what is learned in the
classroom.
Thank you for the warm welcome and for the
coordination that has allowed us to interact with
students and professors. I am sure that there are
many good lessons that we can learn and imitate in
other parts of the world.
Continue with your excellent work and contribution
to public health through the formation of human
resources and the development of their abilities.

NONG DUC MANH,
general secretary of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party of Vietnam.
On visiting the Latin American School of Medicine, I
have felt at a profound level the humanism, the
elevated internationalist spirit, the transparency
of the Cuban Party, state and people. Future doctors
from Latin American countries trained in this
scientific center will attend to the health and cure
the illnesses of working people of Latin America who
are suffering from exploitation and poverty. The
ideas of Latin American unity expressed by José
Martí and Simón Bolívar have been transformed into a
concrete and creative reality through this
university. (March 9, 2004)
