Raúl attends
interment of Carmen Nordelo, mother of one of the
Five
At the Colón Cemetery in Havana, President Raúl
Castro attended the interment ceremony of Carmen
Nordelo Tejeda, mother of Gerardo Hernández Nordelo,
one of the five anti-terrorist Cubans incarcerated
in the United States.
Nordelo died at midday yesterday.
Wreaths from Raúl, Fidel, Gerardo and his wife
Adriana, and the Cuban people were laid on her
coffin.
In spite of her illness, 76 year old Carmen
actively participated in the campaign to publicize
the truth surrounding the Five’s case, and promote
the demand for a fair trial for those who attempted
to prevent terrorist attacks on Cuba from taking
place.
