returned to his country on Thursday evening
BOLIVIAN President Evo Morales Ayma had useful
discussions yesterday, Thursday, first for two hours
with Fidel, and shortly afterward with President
Raúl Castro Ruz.
In
their fraternal conversations issues of bilateral
interest were addressed and it was an occasion
conducive to an exchange of experiences on how their
peoples are undertaking political, social and
economic tasks, while at the same time confronting
external aggression and the consequences of the
world economic crisis.
They agreed on the need to continue strengthening
unity among the countries of Latin America and the
Caribbean, and to consolidate and increase
achievements on the multilateral level.
Morales said that his meeting with Fidel was
highly significant, and reiterated his people’s
gratitude for Cuba’s unconditional solidarity,
particularly in health and education. In their
dialogue, they ratified both countries’ desire to
increasingly perfect their cooperation.
In the meeting with Raúl, other participants
included First Vice President José Ramón Machado
Ventura, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla,
Bolivian Minister of the Presidency Juan Ramón
Quintana, and Rafael Daussá Céspedes, the Cuban
ambassador in Bolivia.
Minutes later, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez
Parrilla bade farewell to the Bolivian president at
the José Martí International Airport.
