U.S. command in Iraq acknowledges three more deaths

BAGHDAD, November 27 (PL) —. The U.S. military command acknowledged the loss of three of its troops, raising the number of fatal casualties this month to 58, despite efforts by the Iraqi government to strangle the resistance.

The U.S. authorities did not specify the circumstances, ranks or places of death of the three soldiers, although it did say that they were killed “in combat action.”

The information was confirmed by media agencies here, which reported dynamite attacks and armed clashes in several locations in this capital and throughout the country.

At least two other U.S. soldiers were injured in these confrontations, in which a shock force participated comprised of troops loyal to the government of Prime Minister Nuri al Maliki.

With the latest three deaths reported, the independent media estimated the number of U.S. officers and soldiers killed in resistance actions since the U.S.-led invasion and occupation of this Middle Eastern country at 2,876.
