Some 20 protesters participated today in the demonstration outside the mission, a few blocks from the UN building, calling for a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq, ANSA reports.

Sheehan’s intention was to deliver a petition signed by 60,000 individuals demanding an end to the war to John Bolton, the UN ambassador, but no one would agree to accept it.

She became a public figure last summer after camping out for weeks near the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas.

She was previously detained by police for protesting without a permit outside the White House. (ANSA)
