Fidel meets with prime minister of Commonwealth of
Dominica

PRESIDENT Fidel Castro Ruz,
president of the Councils of State and Ministers,
received the Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit, prime
minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica yesterday
afternoon in the Palace of the Revolution.
In
the fraternal atmosphere that characterizes
relations between the two countries and their
maximum leaders, the delegations of Dominica and
Cuba discussed bilateral and international issues.
In this, his fourth stay in Cuba,
Roosevelt Skerrit, who is also minister of finance,
planning, national security and residents abroad, is
carrying out an agenda that includes visits to
health and energy centers.
Ministers José Ramón Balaguer of
Public Health, Yadira García of Basic Industry,
Felipe Pérez Roque of Foreign Affairs, and Ricardo
Cabrisas of Government who had welcomed Skerrit at
the capital airport, were also present in
yesterday’s talks.
The two
countries reestablished diplomatic relations in May
1996. a total of 238 Dominican students have
graduated from educational centers on the island,
and 15 Cuban collaborators are lending their
services on that island.
