Prime Minister of
the Commonwealth
of Dominica arrives today
THIS afternoon, Thursday, the Honorable Roosevelt
Skerrit, prime minister and minister of finance,
planning, national security and foreign residents of
the Commonwealth of Dominica, arrives in Cuba.
This
is the fourth visit to Cuba by the distinguished
visitor since he became prime minister for the first
time, and is an expression of the deep friendship
between both Caribbean peoples.
This visit will contribute to strengthening the
excellent ties between the two nations and is
another manifestation of the firm determination of
both governments to work together in maintaining and
developing bilateral ties.
Cuba and the Commonwealth of Dominica established
diplomatic relations on May 18, 1996. To date, 238
young people from that sister country have graduated
from institutions of learning in our country, while
15 Cuban professionals are lending their services in
that Caribbean sister country.
