Three U.S. soldiers
killed in Iraq
in the last 24 hours
BAGHDAD, August 24. — Three U.S. soldiers have
died during the last 24 hours in southern Baghdad,
according to the U.S. Army, ANSA reported.
One of the soldiers died as a homemade bomb went
off as his vehicle passed by.
A few hours earlier, the Army reported the death
of another soldier in the same area, during an armed
clash with groups from the resistance.
The third U.S. soldier died as a consequence of
injuries suffered when his patrol came under attack
by resistance fighters armed with light weapons.
PL also reported that seven civilians including a
child were killed by U.S. troops who destroyed a
house in the Shegal district of the western province
of Kunar.
The pretext for this latest genocidal action by
the occupying troops was the capture of a supposed
member of the Al Qaeda organization, but the
assistant police chief in that province, Abdul Abor
Alá Yar, said that most of those present were
elderly people who were meeting to discuss a family
affair.
