Bush more
unpopular than ever
in the United States
WASHINGTON,
April 11 (AFP). – President George W. Bush’s image
is at its lowest point in the United States since he
took power in 2001, according to a survey published
on Tuesday by The Washington Post newspaper.
Sixty
percent of those polled disapprove of Bush’s
performance, compared to 38% who approve, according
to the survey, carried out April 6-9 for The
Washington Post and the ABC television
network.
Moreover,
55% of registered voters are thinking about voting
for Democratic Party candidates in the Congressional
elections in November.
Sixty-two
percent of those surveyed disapprove of Bush’s
performance in Iraq, compared to 37% who approve.
The survey
reflects the growing concern of U.S. Americans
regarding the occupation of Iraq and Bush’s domestic
policy blunders and their lack of confidence in him.
Bush is the least popular president in U.S. history
since Richard Nixon in the 1970s.
