Evo Morales: 80%
approval
LA PAZ—Bolivian President Evo Morales has 80% of
citizen support, according to the results of a
survey published yesterday (Sunday, April 2), and in
spite of intense efforts by the opposition and the
media to discredit the government.
The Apoyo, Opinión y Mercado survey was carried
out between March 13 and 25 in the cities of La Paz
and El Alto, as well as the central city of
Cochabamba and the eastern one of Santa Cruz.
The increase of government popularity contrasts
with efforts by parties of the minority opposition
and the media backing them to accuse the president
of supposed errors or excesses, a lack of
effectiveness or authoritarian tendencies.
