Fidel: call to get rid of those who are imposing lies and injustice

PRESIDENT Fidel Castro Ruz called for the lies and cynicism of the empire to be exposed during a speech at the International Conference against Terrorism and for Truth and Justice, which held its first session yesterday at the International Conference Center in Havana.

Fidel: call to get rid of those who are imposing lies and injusticeAfter a presentation by Argentine journalist and researcher Stella Calloni, Fidel wanted to know more about her reference to the notorious terrorist José Dionisio Suárez, whom she associated with arms-for-drugs trafficking at the Ilopango military base in El Salvador and the murder of Archbishop Juan Arnulfo Romero, and later with the assassination of the former Chilean Foreign Minister Orlando Letelier.

The Cuban president noted the connection of this "elite" group, organized and financed by the CIA, with Italian and other European fascists in Rome, during that stage of its inception.

"It is not just a matter of denouncing what occurred, but sweeping away all of those ideas related to Nazi-fascism," Fidel emphasized.

"I think that they must be exposed, to avoid any repetition of the circumstances in which such ideas and methods thrive; these should be swept away, just like the fruits or protagonists born of such a system," he added.

He stated that, based on the truth, we should aspire to get rid of those who have imposed lies and injustice on the world.

"Here, all of the secrets that could be constructed by history have come together, perhaps the most dramatic one of the last century," the president noted.

"The empire must be restrained. We must beat it with ideas, now more than ever, because the objective conditions exist," he affirmed.

Fidel commented, "In order for such a thing never to happen again, the authors must not be allowed to once more become the masters of the world, or have the power that they currently have."
