Vincentian prime
minister describes relations with Cuba as excellent
MEETINGS at the highest level are on
today’s agenda of Ralph E. Gonsalves, prime minister
of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, who arrived in
the Cuban capital last night.
The visitor described his country’s
relations with Cuba as excellent.
The dignitary was received on the
forecourt of the metropolitan airport by Bruno
Rodríguez, Cuban deputy minister of foreign affairs.
Speaking to the National News Agency,
Gonsalves mentioned the excellent ties between his
country and Cuba.
He also referred to the work of a
joint cooperation commission in reviewing bilateral
links and adopting practical agreements on political
issues and in economic areas such as agriculture.
Today, the premier is also to visit
the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center in
the scientific complex west of the capital, in line
with the official agenda.
He is likewise scheduled to meet
with leaders of the Ministries of Public Health,
Labor and Social Security, Tourism and Foreign
Investment and Economic Cooperation, as well as an
encounter with some 150 young people from his
country studying in Cuba.
This is the fourth visit to Cuba by
the St. Vincent and Grenadines government leader
since 2001. (PL)
