ON THE NURSING EVENT

R.A. O’Connell, the leader of a nursing association in Britain, comments to us that they are studying possibilities for visiting different countries as part of a Nursing Management course. The three proposals are Cuba, California (U.S.A.) and Canada.

Well, I’d like to inform you of the 11th Congress of the Cuban Nursing Society at the Plaza América Convention Center in Varadero, which is to take place June 21 through 25 this year, where two symposiums: "Family Health and Nurses," and "Needs, Trends and Challenges in Educating Human Resources in Nursing," are to run concurrently.

For more information, you can go to the website www.enfermeria.sid.cu

WEB SITES ON CHE

Daniel Barrantas, from Argentina, asks us for the Internet sites dedicated to Che Guevara. I suggest Hasta La Victoria Siempre, a Granma International site, which you may access at www.granma.cu The site contains a series of articles, interviews and speeches published on the heroic guerrilla in the Cuban press and you may also read an on-line version of his Bolivian Diary, with an introduction by Fidel Castro. Additionally, you will find little-known photographs and references to episodes in his youth, his political formation and the revolutionary struggle. I also recommend www.che.islagrande.cu and www.urumeib.tripod.com which both offer links to other sites on Che, and the society that bears his name in Argentina www.da.com.ar with more links.

SOLIDARITY FROM HONDURAS

"I am a Honduran journalist and, throughout my life, have felt respect for you, your country and the incomparable example of love for your land and people, demonstrated wherever you go since 1959. Please receive greetings of solidarity, support and affection from this people, who have nothing to do with the despicable and hypocritical decisions promoted by the beast of savage capitalism, which, as Simón (Bolívar) said more than 200 years ago, represents only pain, exploitation and poverty for the peoples of Latin America." This is a message from Carlos Zelaya, of El Heraldo.
