THE 9th International Colloquium for the Liberation of the Five and Against Terrorism, which took place in the eastern province of Holguín (November 13-17) and was attended by 300-plus delegates from 51 countries, ended with determination to win the struggle.

HOLGUIN.—The exposition Yo me muero como viví, comprising 15 watercolors in which one of the Five, Antonio Guerrero, captures moments of the first months of their unjust and cruel imprisonment, was a strong preamble to the 9th International Colloquium for the Liberation of the Five and Against Terrorism, which began November 12 with friends of Cuba from all parts of the world.

IT couldn’t be any other way. Five innocent Cubans have completed 15 years of unjust imprisonment in the United States, five Cubans who left everything behind to protect the life and tranquility of an entire country. Thousands of Havana residents are fully aware of this and added their voices to those of some 30 artists to the demand that the U.S. government immediately free these anti-terrorist heroes.

CONVENED by the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC), the Solidarity with the Five Committee and the Cuban Friendship Institute, a notable representation of Havana residents marched to the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribunal to demand the liberation of Cubans Fernando, Ramón, Gerardo and Antonio, unjustly incarcerated in U.S. prisons. René writes his brother Roberto

René González has sent a moving letter to his brother Roberto who is gravely ill with cancer. The same day, through his lawyer, he filed a motion requesting permission to travel to Cuba and visit his brother in a Havana hospital. The motion notes that these types of requests for international travel by individuals on parole have been granted in the past. The judge has not yet responded to the motion

U.S. editorial denounced for distorting events
WASHINGTON.— The Cuban Interests Section here in the U.S. capital denounced an editorial in The Washington Post which distorts events related to Cuba, including the prosecution of Alan Gross and the case of the Five Cuban anti-terrorists incarcerated in the United States.
