Legacy of Chávez
to be studied
CARACAS.—The Hugo Chávez Institute for Advanced
Studies will promote research into the philosophy
and legacy of the Bolivarian leader beginning with a
series of conferences across Venezuela, the
President of the institute, Adán Chávez, announced
on Tuesday.

The
Governor of Barinas state told the press that
another of the objectives is to “encourage
participation, be proactive,
to work with his
legacy
and strengthen the homeland
that he (Chávez)
left us.”
Progress is being made regarding coordination with
the support of other educational bodies, political
parties and social movements from countries such as
Argentina,
Nicaragua,
Russia, China and
Cuba,
Chávez added.
With
Cuba "we share a
strong
relationship," Chávez stated, taking the
opportunity to send greetings
to Fidel
and the
Cuban people and government.
He also
announced that an international conference will take
place between 11 and 13
December.
The
meeting,
held at the headquarters
of the
General Archive of the
Nation in
Caracas, was attended by
the Vice President for
Planning
and Knowledge, Ricardo
Menéndez; the
Ministers
of Higher Education,
Science and Technology,
Manuel
Fernández, Communes and
Social Movements and
Vice President
for
Territorial Socialism,
Elias Jaua, among others.
The
institute
will offer accredited
lectures
that reflect the ideology
of Chávez.
Its creation
was announced on
July
28, 2013
by President
Nicolas Maduro
during the commemoration
of the 59
anniversary of the birth of
the Bolivarian leader.
The institute is coordinated by
the
Venezuelan historian,
Carmen Bohorquez,
and other intellectuals.
