Cuban Vice
President highlights relations with Holy See
VATICAN City, March 19.—Cuba and the Vatican
maintain cordial relations of mutual respect and
collaboration and are advancing in the development
and deepening of those links, affirmed First Vice
President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez here today.
Speaking to Prensa Latina, Díaz-Canel said
that both parties agree on many points, above all on
a series of social problems affecting the world.
The head of the Cuban delegation to the
inauguration of Pope Francis conveyed a message of
congratulations from President Raúl Castro and the
Cuban people and government, wishing him success
during his Pontificate.
As part of his agenda, the Vice President also
met with officials at the Cuban embassy in Italy to
discuss aspects of the economic model updating
process.
