Cuban Vice President highlights relations with Holy See

VATICAN City, March 19.—Cuba and the Vatican maintain cordial relations of mutual respect and collaboration and are advancing in the development and deepening of those links, affirmed First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez here today.

Speaking to Prensa Latina, Díaz-Canel said that both parties agree on many points, above all on a series of social problems affecting the world.

The head of the Cuban delegation to the inauguration of Pope Francis conveyed a message of congratulations from President Raúl Castro and the Cuban people and government, wishing him success during his Pontificate.

As part of his agenda, the Vice President also met with officials at the Cuban embassy in Italy to discuss aspects of the economic model updating process.
