excellent state of the traditional relations of
friendship and cooperation between the two countries

Army
General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils
of State and Ministers, held official talks, on
Sunday December 7, with the Honorable Freundel
Stuart, Prime Minister of Barbados, who is visiting
the country as the head of the Barbados delegation
to the 5th CARICOM-Cuba Summit.

During the cordial meeting, the two leaders
discussed the excellent state of the traditional
relations of friendship and cooperation shared by
the two nations, and reiterated their commitment to
developing these ties. They additionally addressed
issues of regional and international interest.
The
distinguished guest was accompanied by Sonja Welch,
permanent secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office,
and Charles Bournett, permanent secretary of the
Ministry of Foreign Relations and Trade. Also
participating on the Cuba side were Foreign Minister
Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, and ambassador Francisco
Fernández Peña.
